MacBook was ok until this morning but now this exhibits the same behaviour. It will not allow me to add new shortcuts. Last night the shortcut key settings for push-to-talk and whisper disappeared from the iMac. This solution might not behave as expected in all applications, but this is only jury-rigged until someone fills the feature request on Launchpad.
